Allergies can wreak havoc and make us truly miserable! Those that suffer with them live this truth and know the misery first hand. Lucky for allergy-sufferers, there are some natural remedies that can help alleviate some of the suffering. Years ago, before I learned about the power of herbs, I personally used to take a Benadryl every night to help fight my allergies until I read about Benadryl contributing to Alzheimer's! No thanks! This herbal tea blend for allergies is one of the most effective remedies I have found. As an herbalist I take great pride in my recipes being balanced, tasty and more importantly—effective. This tea is very mild tasting with a hint of cinnamon and peppermint at the finish. I highly suggest adding some LOCAL raw honey to this tea for an even bigger allergy fighting punch. It also tastes delicious with a tbsp of our elderberry and honey tonic added in—customers have told me it makes it taste like "chai" tea when mixed with elderberry.
Our handmade tea is made to order, therefore it is fresher than anything you will find in the store. Loose-leaf tea is more effective because the herbs are not sealed up and every inch of them are touched by the hot water, allowing for higher extraction of the nutrients. Bagged teas are sealed shut on all sides with toxic glue—always go with loose-leaf tea, whenever possible, for this reason.
This blend is unique and high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and antihistamines. It is caffeine and sugar free. Each herb was carefully chosen for either their histamine-reducing properties and/or high vitamin C content. It is essential to have adequate levels of vitamin C to reduce histamine inflammation from seasonal allergies. The rose hips and orange peel provide a natural source of vitamin C.

Serving size is around 1–3 tsp per 8 oz of hot (just below boiling) water. Steep 10–20 minutes in a covered cup for maximum allergy-reducing benefits. Covering helps prevent nutrients from escaping as steam.
A stronger infusion can also be made by putting 1/4 cup of herbal tea in a quart mason jar, pouring hot water over it, and letting it sit overnight in the fridge before straining. This is my personal preferred method—my tea is ready to go every morning.
2.25 oz bag — makes up to 75 cups of tea (if using 1 tsp of herbs)
Optional add-on: Stainless steel mesh ball strainer with locking component and hook that hangs over top of mug (+$3.50). Top rack dishwasher safe. Please note these are very fine mesh strainers but small bits of herbs may still get through at times.
This tea takes time to build up in your system. Drink at least one cup (preferably two) every day for best results. If you've had allergy/sinus problems for a while, they're not going to disappear overnight—please keep at it a while after you're feeling better to ensure you stay better.
Other allergy tips: I recommend supplementing with at least 1,000–2,000 mg of vitamin C powder (ascorbic acid or camu camu) every day if you have severe allergies. I personally take 3,000 mg during allergy season. Also, eat beets—they help seasonal allergies too!
