Haley's Story

Roots and Leaves was established in 2017 by Haley Maness and was born out of desperation and necessity. I (Haley, Founder/Owner) was diagnosed with Lyme’s disease and mold exposure and it was wreaking havoc on my health and life. Mainstream medical was doing little to help, so I started researching alternative treatments. God introduced me to the healing world of herbs and I haven’t looked back. My first and most powerful product, Elderberry & Honey Tonic, was what began my healing journey. When I take it, I feel better. It’s as simple as that. I infuse twelve total herbs and roots into the tonic and add raw honey, making it a powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial immune boosting product in one small daily dose. It’s not the only tool in my natural healing toolbox, but it is one of my favorites...and always will be. When I saw the potential healing it brought into my life, it motivated me to branch out even more with herbs and nourishing foods. I also discovered that I could not fully heal from lyme and mold until I got rid of parasites. In 2020 I discovered my root cause was parasites and did a parasite cleanse that changed my life. I can honestly say that I am 100% healed of my chronic fatigue, daily headaches, weekly migraines, intense brain fog and flu like symptoms that would come and go.

I was miserably sick for 15 years, and I healed. Naturally. And friend, so can you.

About our shop

We are a small team and a family owned business. Haley is the herbalist & recipe creator for all of the products that we offer. She is also head of basically everything for the business and wears many hats. Brandon, her better half, helps on backend IT projects and anything technical. Addie, our little one, is the future herbalist and CEO of our company and everything we dream is for her. Debra and Caroline make up the rest of our team and they wear many hats as well from shipping and receiving, deliveries, to inventory management. They do a ton for us and we are grateful for their hard work and the fact that they are like family. As our team continues to grow we hope to employ more women, and help mothers find work life balance while working for us. We focus on partnering with independently owned health food stores, pharmacies, and any other retail location that is focused on bringing health and wellness to their community. We believe that the stores we choose to partner with are the backbone of our society, the employees at our retail partner locations are knowledgeable and helpful and give well thought out and caring recommendations. This is something you can’t get on Amazon, which we will never partner with.

Our passion is to provide simplified herbal and holistic education to everyone and produce organic herbal remedies that are affordable for all. To put the power back into the consumers hands to heal themselves, with everything we have been given on this earth. To educate that weeds have been vilified and they are actually powerful medicinal remedies. To simplify and teach others how to grow their own herbs easily and how to use them effortlessly in everyday life. To give back what was given to me several years ago when I was sick and clueless to herbal potency and the toxins I was consuming that were deemed as “safe”. I want the world to know that herbs are magical and are our true allies. That we can actually heal our bodies with what we consume in the form of food, herbs, roots and spices.
